Raffaele Facciolà completed his studies with Gaetano Tirotta at the Francesco Cilea Conservatory in Calabria. He made his début in 2003 in Don Giovanni at the Opera Giocosa Festival in Savona, appearing the following year as the Count in Paisiello’s Nina pazza per amore and as Don Chilone in Vinci’s Erighetta e Don Chilone. In 2006 he won second prize at the Campi Flegrei Competition in Pozzuoli, appearing in Naples the following year as Nardo in Galuppi’s Il fi losofo di campagna. Other rôles include Don Perizonio (Cimarosa’s L‘impresario in angustie) in Cortona and Anghiari, Norton (La cambiale di matrimonio), Marco (Gianni Schicchi) in Chiasso and Don Magnifi co (La Cenerentola) at the Teatro Borgatti in Cento. In 2010 he sang in the world première of Antonio Fortunati’s La baronessa di Carini in Palermo, followed in 2011 by a new production at the Teatro Massimo Bellini in Catania, in the rôle of Don Vincenzo. In 2012 he appeared at Wildbad as the Caliph in Rossini’s Adina.
