The Vienna-based conductor Rubén Dubrovsky was born in Buenos Aires to an artistic family of Polish-Italian descent. Two experiences, which he skilfully and inspiringly links to this day, mark his path as a musician: his classical training as a cellist and conductor on the one hand, and his passionate academic research into the common roots of traditional South American music and European Baroque music on the other.
This versatile artist is co-founder and director of the Bach Consort Wien. Some important works have been rediscovered and presented on stage by Dubrovsky. Furthermore he devotes much attention to the operas of Handel. Rubén Dubrovsky is also artistic director of the Third Coast Baroque in Chicago.
