TARA STAFFORD

Tara Stafford was born in Rogersville (Missouri) and studied at the Peabody Conservatory of John Hopkins University in Baltimore. In 2013 she made her début as Violetta (La traviata) at Springfield Regional Opera. Her repertoire includes the rôles of Cunégonde in Bernstein’s Candide, the Queen of the Night (Die Zauberflöte), Gilda (Rigoletto), Mimì (La bohème), Mrs. Nordstrom in Sondheim’s A Little Night Music and Beatrice in the première of Kevin Clark’s chamber opera Some Ado. She has appeared in oratorio, concerts, chamber music and musicals and in September 2013 sang the Voix céleste in Berlioz’s La damnation de Faust with the Utah Symphony Orchestra.
