VIRTUOSI ITALIANI STRING TRIO I Virtuosi Italiani is a chamber orchestra made up primarily of first-desk players from top-ranking Italian orchestras and other internationally renowned musicians. Having maintained a busy international concert schedule for the last twenty years, it has recently begun a new chapter in its history following its amalgamation with another of Italy’s foremost chamber orchestras, the Accademia I Filarmonici. The combined experience and technical and artistic abilities of the two ensembles set the seal on the new orchestra’s key position in the international arena. As well as their orchestral activity, the players of I Virtuosi Italiani also take part in various chamber groupings, including the String Trio, which features the orchestra’s leader, Alberto Martini, its first cellist, Pietro Bosna, and viola-player Davide Zaltron, all three of whom have a great deal of experience performing both on stage and in the studio.
