John Quinn
MusicWeb International, January 2016

The CPO plays Marinarella as if the music is in their blood, which is probably the case. The title of The Jolly Village Smithy is accurate: it is indeed a jolly piece, complete with contributions from two percussionists playing hammers and mini-anvils. The Florentine March is good fun and is played with plenty of spirit. © 2016 MusicWeb International Read complete review

The music-making and the video quality are outstanding. This is a superb document of one of the world’s greatest orchestras led by one of the late 20th Century’s great conductors. © 2016 American Record Guide Read complete review on American Record Guide

Pizzicato, September 2015

Václav Neumann was one of those rare conductors able to not only conduct an orchestra but to form his sound. He delivers superb performances of Dvořák’s Wood Dove, Janáček’s Taras Bulba and six short marches and waltzes by the Czech composer Julius Fučík. © 2015 Pizzicato
