David W. Moore
American Record Guide, September 2014

Gaubert’s music is beautiful, melodic and full of variety. This is very attractive music…played and recorded very well. © 2014 American Record Guide Read complete review on American Record Guide

James A. Altena
Fanfare, September 2014

Both violinist Jean-Marc Phillips-Varjabédian and cellist Henri Demarquette play with apt sweetness of tone and elegance of phrasing, and pianist Marie-Josèph Jude proves an ideal accompanist at every point…Timpani provides exemplary recorded sound and detailed booklet notes…this absolutely delightful disc is warmly recommended. © 2014 Fanfare Read complete review

Bob McQuiston
Classical Lost and Found, July 2014

…violinist Jean-Marc Phillips-Varjabédian, cellist Henri Demarcquette, and pianist Marie-Josèphe Jude seem particularly well qualified when it comes to this music. They give us technically accomplished, sensitive readings of these scores, making a strong case for an unduly neglected composer.

The Timpani recording engineers produce some of today’s best sounding French discs, this being no exception…the recordings project a convincing soundstage in a warm acoustic. The instruments are optimally placed and balanced with the string sound on the bright side of natural, and the piano beautifully captured, making this a priority release. © 2014 Classical Lost and Found Read complete review

Jonathan Woolf
MusicWeb International, June 2014

The splendid performances have been well recorded and are supported by an enthusiastic booklet note which sings Gaubert’s compositional praises. Rightly so, really, as he has a small but individual voice in the world of French music of the time. © 2014 MusicWeb International Read complete review

Geoffrey Norris
Gramophone, June 2014

This fine performance offers no reasons why it should so long have endured neglect. © 2014 Gramophone Read complete review on Gramophone
