Opera News, June 2016

Conductor Francesco Quattrocchi keeps textures light and tempos relatively brisk, doing his best to combat the ecclesiastical echo. …Tenors Luciano Ganci and Bogdan Mihai and baritone Filippo Polinelli do well enough as Amenofi, Elisero and Faraone. Mezzo Isabelle Kabatu is quite good as Pharaoh’s wife… © 2016 Opera News Read complete review

…[Bogdan Mihai] displays a sweet, flexible lyric tenor; Luciano Ganci is a suitably loathsome Amenofi, the Pharaoh’s son; and Isabelle Kabatu makes a strong contribution as Pharaoh’s wife, Sinaide. The Pharaoh himself, Filippo Polinelli, has a strong bass voice and an imposing presence. © 2016 American Record Guide Read complete review on American Record Guide

Parterre Box, April 2016

Maestro Raimondi…is in fine fettle for a man of 75-years and covers himself in glory throughout the evening. His voice is firm and resonant and astonishingly robust.

The Maestro Francesco Quattrocchi does his best to keep his tempos clean… The ensemble is the Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo di Milano Orchestra and Chorus and they play with good intention… © 2016 Parterre Box Read complete review

The WholeNote, March 2016

This being in Italy and especially Milan, the mostly young singers are all excellent, their voices gloriously resounding in the spacious acoustics of the cathedral. Isabelle Kabatu as Queen Sinaide is especially memorable in her highly emotionally charged scene, and in the title role the venerable Ruggero Raimondi at 74, amazingly enough can still sing the role although his voice is somewhat compromised by now. The young Italian conductor Francesco Quattrocchi, well attuned to the Rossini idiom, brings out beautiful sounds and sonorities. All in all the opera is severely truncated, but still an impressive, visually resplendent show for this special occasion. © 2016 The WholeNote Read complete review

Moses is sung by the great Ruggero Raimondi. …The voice, as recorded, remains as mellow as a well-cellared oloroso… Tenor Luciano Ganci, a singer very much in his prime, is a superb Amenofi; Isabelle Kabatu also makes her mark as Amenofi’s fearsome mother. © 2016 Gramophone Read complete review on Gramophone
