Michael Cookson
MusicWeb International, September 2016

PUCCINI, G.: Bohème (La) (Puccini Festival, 2014) (NTSC) 736108
PUCCINI, G.: Bohème (La) (Puccini Festival, 2014) (Blu-ray, HD) 736204

Dessì is a strikingly vulnerable and melancholic Mimì with her warm-hearted personality shining through. Throughout, her voice sounds in fine condition, acceptably fluid and decidedly expressive with her big arias Sì, mi chiamano Mimì and Donde lieta uscì so deeply affecting. Solid and assured Armiliato is a suitably impulsive Rodolfo coming across as one of the most empathetic of the group of bohemians.

Satisfying filming with marvellous singing and acting: this is certainly a captivating performance that does justice to Puccini’s masterpiece. © 2016 MusicWeb International

Grimoaldo
Parterre Box, September 2016

The conductor is the very good looking Valerio Galli, an up and coming young Italian. He gets top marks both for musicianship and hotness.

Highly recommended for the pleasureable production and beautiful, heart-wrenching performance by Dessi. © 2016 Parterre Box Read complete review
