David W. Moore
American Record Guide, October 2000

"Jesus Villa-Rojo (b. 1940) is a Spanish composer whose music follows several paths. The Cello Concerto sets up background atmosphere, against which the soloist plays an improvisatory cantilena.

"Mystery and meditation are prominent. Polo plays with effective dramatic feeling. Passacaglia y Conte is a 17-minute movement for taped sounds and orchestra dedicated to the memory of poet Federico Garcia Lorca and composer Luigi Nono.

"The following songs are beautiful, and Cecotti has a lovely voice. The Septet includes trumpet and trombone among its denizens and is ethnic and lively."
