William W. Starr
The State, March 2002

Since classical recordings are being marketed especially for things like dinner parties and studying, why not for weddings? This nearly four-hour selection features music for the prelude, the processional and the postlude, suitable for indoor or outdoor services. You can choose from among traditional pieces such as Bach's 'Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring' or the Bridal Chorus from Wagner's 'Lohengrin'; from outdoor-appropriate selections such as Boccherini's 'String Quintet'; regal works such as the 'Trumpet Voluntary'; or off-the-beaten-path selections on the order of Satie's 'Gymnopedie.' The 53 pieces in this set, all taken from Naxos releases, might overwhelm, but the liner notes help to provide a framework to aid brides- and grooms-to-be to find just the right music for their special day."
