Donald R Vroon
American Record Guide, May 2009

…warm and energetic, well paced, and plenty of variety of touch to suit the music’s changing moods.

Penguin Guide, January 2009

The Jandó-Kodály Trout is above all bracing. The first movement is soon moving along briskly and at a concert one could well be swept along by the momentum of the performance, for there is relaxation in the Andante and the famous Variations are mellow and strongly characterized. The polish and impetus of this playing is never in doubt and the recording is excellent, but this account obviously comes from east of Vienna. The Adagio and Rondo concertante sounds a stronger work here than usual and the rondo is spirited and jolly.

Classic CD, December 1992
