I’ve never heard this name before—though if I were a harpist, I probably would have. He was a Welshman, and this is immediately apparent in his folksong oriented music. Thomas was also Queen Victoria’s official harpist, which is an indication of his performing powers. The Grand Duet is the most substantial work on the disc, and the most classical in format. The husband and wife team of Sebastien and Sayo Lipman play seamlessly, very musically, and are abetted by superior audio in a perfect acoustical setting. All in all, an extremely pleasant recording to suit all tastes.
