James Harrington
American Record Guide, March 2015

There is much delightful music here…

I can offer nothing but praise for Armengaud’s pianism and can’t imagine a better performance of this music. © 2015 American Record Guide Read complete review on American Record Guide

A most entrancing album played with verve and sensitivity to Poulenc’s individual idiom. © 2014 MusicWeb International Read complete review

The Seniors Review, December 2014

When we go to the ballet, we forget that dancers don’t have orchestras behind them when they practice their roles, but are accompanied by a piano version of the score. Not all composers write their own piano versions, but French composer Francis Poulenc did for his own ballets. Some of these have now been collected on a new CD featuring pianist Jean-Pierre Armengaud. You may well want to tap your tees while listening to it, for this is eminently danceable music. © 2014 The Seniors Review

The Arts Desk, October 2014

These performances by Jean-Pierre Armengaud ooze conviviality.

…[a] delightful disc. © 2014 The Arts Desk Read complete review

David Denton
David's Review Corner, September 2014

Poulenc created his ballets at the piano before orchestration, the scores then being used for the dance rehearsals, but were not really intended for public performance…throughout the disc the famous French pianist, Jean-Pierre Armengaud, uses tempos that are more relevant to a piano recital than to dancing, his clarity and dexterity always admirable… © 2014 David’s Review Corner
