Philip Greenfield
American Record Guide, January 2020

I’d be especially honored to join up with Bella Voce, a Chicago-based chamber ensemble of 30-some voices patterned after the co-ed cathedral choirs of Britain. Since I had to assume the passive role here to keep quiet and listen, I’m glad they were involved. Their strong, expressive voices are good for Brahms, and the piano accompaniment (crafted for the most part by old Johannes himself) is formidable. © 2020 American Record Guide Read complete review on American Record Guide

David's Review Corner, September 2019

The Canadian baritone, Hugh Russell, is most satisfying, while Michelle Areyzaga’s powerful soprano speaks of her career on the opera stage. Chicago-based Madeline Slettedahl and Craig Terry are the piano duo, and the founder of Bella Voce, Andrew Lewis, conducts a nicely paced account. I am sure that many small cash-strapped vocal groups without an amateur orchestra on hand, will be pleased to discover this version of whose existence they are probably unaware. © 2019 David’s Review Corner
