Karl F. Miller
Fanfare, September 2020

The resultant music is simple, tuneful, and unpretentious. The writing displays a clear inspiration of the music of the East, with its expected repetition of thematic material.

The playing is excellent and the recorded sound is fine. © 2020 Fanfare Read complete review

Stephanie Boyd
American Record Guide, July 2020

This album has a greater significance than just a well-written piece performed beautifully (Elin Torp Meland on oboe and cor anglais, Kjell Magne Robak on cello, and Gro Merete Hjertvik on piano). In these eight movements, Herskedal manages to transport the audience into a place and an intellectual space that gets us closer to world peace and cross-cultural understanding. I think this album is going to mean a great deal and do a great deal of good to many people. © 2020 American Record Guide Read complete review on American Record Guide
