Kenneth Keaton
American Record Guide, March 2017

…this recording isn’t aimed at the connoisseur; it’s an introduction to the guitar, and a damned good one. It’s a magical instrument, and can begin to weave its spell on the new listener here—time enough to discover its depths later. © 2017 American Record Guide Read complete review on American Record Guide

David Denton
David's Review Corner, January 2017

I guess somewhere in the world, and at this very moment, a Spanish-themed restaurant will be playing this disc to place its customers in a convivial mood. There is a goodly helping of music by Isaac Albéniz, Francisco Tárrega and Gaspar Sanz, with a fleeting visit from Joaquín Rodrigo and Manuel de Falla, the seventeen tracks taken from Naxos’s enormous catalogue of guitar discs. An abundance of atmospheric Spanish strumming, with many famous melodies to form that pleasing backdrop, the disc featuring a long list of performers including famous names, such as Norbert Kraft, and major guitar competition winners over many years. The disc arrives without any notes on its content, but it is not aimed at those who will want such information, the disc playing for over sixty minutes. Sit back and enjoy it. © 2017 David’s Review Corner
