Stephen Estep
American Record Guide, March 2015

Julian Wachner…is undeniably talented and prolific to boot, and this is an excellent introduction to his choral works. Choirs and instrumentalists are all excellent and engaged with the music. © 2015 American Record Guide Read complete review on American Record Guide

Carson Cooman
Fanfare, November 2014

The best pieces date from the mid- to late 1990s, with their ecstatic Lydian and Mixolydian modal evocations, festive rhythmic drive, and concise formal designs. It would be difficult not to be swept up in them. © 2014 Fanfare

Steven Bergman
EDGE on the Net, September 2014

With over three hours of music to absorb and enjoy, it is blatantly evident why Wachner is such an in-demand musician.

Soprano Jessica Muirhead exhibits a strong, resonating sound throughout her contributions to this recording, especially on Wachner’s two “Psalm Cycles.” Both pieces are predominantly lightly orchestrated, allowing Muirhead to completely draw in the listener with the sacred texts.

Wachner’s vast experience music directing and composing for church groups from Boston to Montreal, have clearly given the musician an expansive knowledge of the sacred texts, and his comprehension of massive orchestration shine through in a vast spectrum of sound. © 2014 EDGE on the Net Read complete review
