Jerry Dubins
Fanfare, March 2019

We have here in the Munich Radio’s recording, led by Ivan Repušic…

I can tell you that these are very fine performances and you will not go wrong with this release. © 2019 Fanfare Read complete review

Fanfare, March 2019

I liked the way in which Repušić teases us by drawing out the first two notes of the waltz theme in Die schöne Galathée. (It’s at 4:35 on the first track.) Orchestral playing is excellent, and the first chair cellist’s solos are particularly well done. There are lots of good recordings of these works…

I wish this conductor well, and I look forward to hearing what delights he and his orchestra might bring us in the future. © 2019 Fanfare Read complete review

Fanfare, March 2019

I am happy to celebrate this release without reservation, under the circumstances. It’s joyful, melodic, perfectly recorded from top to bottom and beautifully played by the Munich Radio Orchestra. However many bears are involved, this is a perfect porridge! © 2019 Fanfare Read complete review

American Record Guide, March 2019

Repusic certainly has the “light classics” touch in the fast passages…

I hasten to add that the orchestra plays splendidly. Just listen to the great string and brass articulation and phrasing at a furious tempo in the introduction to Light Cavalry or the gorgeous cello solo at the start of Die Frau Meisterin. © 2019 American Record Guide Read complete review on American Record Guide

Max Burgdörfer
MusicWeb International, January 2019

This CD, a compilation of some of the overtures to his operettas, comes in anticipation of Suppé’s 200th birthday next year. He was born in Dalmatia in Austria-Hungary where he began to compose from an early age and studied the flute and harmony. He moved to the capital as a young man. Amongst his early compositions are the Missa Dalmatica and a Roman Catholic Mass.

Pizzicato, October 2018

Ivan Repusic conducts this program with von Suppé overtures brightly and keeps everything moving elegantly, without preventing the music to become eloquent. © 2018 Pizzicato
