Paul L Althouse
American Record Guide, January 2019

The chorus is just terrific—I wish we had more like them—and soprano Chen Reiss, who sings four pieces, is first rate as well. The orchestra plays beautifully, and indeed, the whole project is splendidly done. My best guess is that you’ll find about one-half to two-thirds of the pieces familiar, but only two or three at the level of mall music. © 2019 American Record Guide Read complete review on American Record Guide

Jerobear
Review Corner, December 2018

The title gives it all away—the Chor des Bayerischen Rundfunks (Bavarian Radio Choir to you post-Brexit Britishers) sings popular Christmas songs. It’s not Christmas carols, it’s Christmas songs and there’s a nice selection.

The sound is lush and big budget, and it’s warming and comforting, like a National Trust shop. It put us in mind of an Andy Williams (Alfie Boe for younger readers) Christmas special, all log fires, happy people smiling as they sing, colourful woollen jumpers, mulled wine (and gratuitous use of the splendid word rundfunks). © 2018 Review Corner Read complete review
