Paul L Althouse
American Record Guide, July 2017

This is a period instrument performance with all the trappings that go with the style. On the positive side are the finely sprung rhythms and the enthusiasm we sense from the singing. Indeed, for lovers of period style, this is an excellent job. The soloists and chorus are excellent; and the orchestra…is crisp, alert, and satisfying. I particularly admire the choral singing, which is well shaped and detailed. …in the Sanctus, where the triplet rhythm has wonderful sweep, the singing is completely satisfying. The soloists are more than adequate, and Anke Vondung’s ‘Agnus Dei’, sung very softly, is especially touching. In short, everything is very well prepared, and there are no weak links. © 2017 American Record Guide Read complete review on American Record Guide

Fanfare, July 2017

BACH, J.S.: Mass in B Minor, BWV 232 (Landshamer, Vondung, Tarver, A. Wolf, Bavarian Radio Chorus, Concerto Köln, Dijkstra) 900910
BACH, J.S.: Mass in B Minor, BWV 232 (Landshamer, Vondung, M. Schmitt, A. Wolf, Bavarian Radio Chorus, Concerto Köln, Dijkstra) (NTSC) 900516

…I like Dijkstra’s lightness; under his direction, the Mass is like a French pastry, …Much of the music dances.

Andreas Wolf, who is as nice to look at as he is to hear, has an interesting timbre—it is unusually bright and forward-placed for a bass-baritone. © 2017 Fanfare Read complete review

Remy Franck
Pizzicato, February 2017

Peter Dijkstra’s account of Bach’s Mass in B-minor is very different from the more heavily contrasted and edgy performances some conductors did present in the last years. The Dutch conductor has chosen a more contemplative and warm way, resulting in one homogenised and soulful performance. © 2017 Pizzicato

MusicWeb International, February 2017

Peter Dijkstra conducts an achingly beautiful live performance of the Mass B minor conveying a considerable depth of sacred expression, making this a highly desirable addition to a collection. © 2017 MusicWeb International Read complete review
