Paul Orgel
Fanfare, July 2017

I first heard Höhenrieder on disc in collaboration with the cellist Julius Berger in music of Beethoven, (Inspired by Mozart) and was impressed by the directness of her playing. Watching her perform reinforces my earlier aural impression. A specialist in the concertos of Mozart and Beethoven, she plays an appropriately bright-sounding Hamburg Steinway, and brings great clarity, shape, and certain “no nonsense” feeling of purpose to every passage. The orchestras accompany her with more energy and character than Fleisher’s restrained physical movements suggest. He, of course, knows the pieces inside out, having made what remain near-definitive recordings of them with George Szell. © 2017 Fanfare Read complete review

Robert Benson, June 2017

Excellent performances as one would expect, video always has the camera in the right place, and the audio is of highest quality. © 2017 Read complete review

These are the kind of performances that take nothing for granted, and while there is plenty of professionalism on show there is also enjoyment in the music—not of the effusive, superficial kind, but that variety which has an ice-berg like extension beneath the notes on the score. …a very enjoyable DVD recording of two fine concertos and certainly a nice thing to have around. © 2017 MusicWeb International Read complete review
