Jack Sullivan
American Record Guide, November 2014

The performances are vital, colorful, and full of life; and the recording is excellent. © 2014 American Record Guide Read complete review on American Record Guide

Phillip Scott
Fanfare, November 2014

…the music making on this Capriccio disc is tight and well captured in a concert-hall sound perspective. Pianist Zichner is notably brilliant in the many passages in both concertos…and his voicing is excellent…

A strong recommendation…for these taut and poised readings of three of Schuloff’s best works: classics that earn themselves a firm place in the annals of 20th-century music. © 2014 Fanfare Read complete review

Fanfare, November 2014

…considering the high level of the performances here, this is a disc I recommend most highly. © 2014 Fanfare Read complete review

Andrew Achenbach
Gramophone, September 2014

Performances are unfailingly tidy and sympathetic…and any readers yet to encounter the varied output of this fascinating figure could…investigate this likeable release. © 2014 Gramophone Read complete review on Gramophone

Peter Bates
Audiophile Audition, August 2014

The…CD provides a good introduction to the many styles Schulhoff tried.

The…Concerto Doppio for Flute and Piano is…neo-classical in form and no less attractive musically. Led by the excellent flautist Jacques Zoon, the piece exploits its concerto grosso roots to excellent effect.

…you may find…his works become so addictive that even a Communist oratorio sounds good. It looks like the time for this Dadaist/revolutionary/jazz-enthusiast composer has finally arrived. © 2014 Audiophile Audition Read complete review

Alison Howard
CBC, June 2014

Schulhoff was a known and respected composer in his day, yet it is only recently that his music has re-emerged from obscurity. This collection of his concertos is part of a series being released on the Capriccio label. It will go a long way in reminding us of a composer with a truly original voice—one whose career should have been long and brilliant. © 2014 CBC Read complete version
