Robert A. Moore
American Record Guide, November 2014

Behle is in fine voice and captures the many moods of the songs. He is at his best when he sings the more inward songs, particularly the exquisitely lovely ‘Sind es Schmerzen, Sind es Freuden’, and he does so as well as anyone could hope.

Bjelland handles the complex and dramatic accompaniment magisterially. © 2014 American Record Guide Read complete review on American Record Guide

Lynn René Bayley
Fanfare, September 2014

On this recording, it helps that Hans-Jürgen Schatz takes a relaxed, conversational approach to the spoken portions, which projects a warm, friendly atmosphere. More to the point, Behle is simply magical. Those familiar with this superb artist know that although he has a light tenor voice, both his timbre and his tone production are superb, and he possesses outstanding interpretive abilities as well. Yet the real gem of this performance is the piano accompaniment of Sveinung Bjelland; he is simply magnificent: light, buoyant, and rhythmically pointed, bringing this music to life along with Behle in a wholly unique way. When you add all three together on CD 2, the result is one of the warmest and cheeriest performances of Brahms you can possibly imagine. © 2014 Fanfare Read complete review

Alain Steffen
Pizzicato, July 2014

…Daniel Behle is a top performer…not over romantic in Brahms’s Magelone. …highly recommendable. © 2014 Pizzicato
