Robert McColley
Fanfare, November 2006

He [Bruckner] was especially famous for his brilliant improvisations. Curiously, he composed very few original pieces for his instrument. He left a few organ pieces, none of them of great importance, but all competent and idiomatic. Martin Haselböck plays two of them as encores on this disc. The disc suggests the instrument we hear may be the one Bruckner played for many years as principal organist of the Royal Chapel in Vienna. © 2006 Fanfare Read complete review
