Mel Martin
Audiophile Audition, March 2013

It is a good listen, and the performances by Harrison at the piano and Maya Beiser, the celloist, are excellent.

Just Ancient Loops is a 3 movement work that includes multi-layered cello tracks…it is interesting and thoughtful.

Time Loops is a fresh take on Ave Maria… Avro Parts Spiegel in Spiegel is next, with an excellent performance.

All in all, Time Loops is a worthwhile visit to some contemporary musical thought… © 2013 Audiophile Audition Read complete review

American Record Guide, March 2013

This is a…pleasant program. Harrison’s music is easy to listen to…if you are a Beiser fan, she is prominently displayed here. It is recorded well. © 2013 American Record Guide Read complete review on American Record Guide

“Just Ancient Loops,” with its evocative drone and pizzicato opening, unfolds like a journey. The music, with its blend of East and West, soars in interlocking swirls of color, rests in a central chorale and builds steam to an ecstatic conclusion, sounding as if it had always been here. © 2012 National Public Radio See complete list

Chloe Veltman
WQXR (New York), October 2012

…Ave Maria…beautifully symbolizes this album’s overall preoccupation with marrying the old and the new to ear-tingling effect.

Just Ancient Loops, a kaleidoscopic, three-part meditation for cello, combines ancient scales and harmonies with contemporary looping techniques that make Beiser’s solo instrument sound like an orchestra. Meanwhile, Hijaz, a brilliantly schizophrenic work that veers between slow, lyrical passages and fast, rhythmic spasms, unites an aged Middle Eastern and North African mode with the youthful voices of the Young People’s Chorus of New York City.

Because every track on the album is composed and performed in just intonation, the music sounds startlingly fresh. © 2012 WQXR (New York) Read complete review
