DVORÁK, A: Symphonies (Complete), Vol. 2 (Saarbrücken German Radio Philharmonic, Chichon) - Symphony No. 5 / In Nature’s Realm CD93.344
DVORÁK, A: Symphonies (Complete), Vol. 3 (Saarbrücken German Radio Philharmonic, Chichon) - Symphonies Nos. 3, 4 SWR19009CD

The excellent playing of his Deutsche Radio Philharmonie Saarbrücken Kaiserslautern, allied to the sophisticated and satisfying engineering of these discs, makes for a thoroughly enjoyable experience. A top rated pair of discs—further volumes in this series are eagerly awaited. © 2017 MusicWeb International Read complete review

Mark Novak
Fanfare, March 2016

Maestro Chichon conducts the symphony with plenty of verve and excitement. His idiomatic phrasing draws out the Slavic character of the music, proving that one doesn’t have to be Czech to “get” this music. Going into this, I was unsure what to expect from this conductor and orchestra in this repertoire, but Chichon’s conducting won me over. Of course he was not alone in that—the orchestra is fully complicit in a good way. This band is really good and clearly demonstrates that even provincial orchestras possess extraordinary chops. © 2016 Fanfare Read complete review

…the opening statement of the symphony’s bucolic melody is given a lovely woodwind turn. …This is nice, lyrical conducting to be sure; the orchestra plays well, and the sound is generally fine. © 2016 Fanfare Read complete review

Remy Franck
Pizzicato, December 2015

Beautifully played and atmospherically expressive performances, entirely responsive to the composer’s feelings as well as to his subtle harmonic scores. © 2015 Pizzicato
