Barnaby Rayfield
MusicWeb International, September 2020

…This album from Dynamic is cannily programmed to contrast the sensual and slow with the more playful and dancelike. The flute is dominant in the sound balance but not distractingly so and the sound has the right amount of air around it. The performances are impeccable too, brisk and bright but keenly aware of rubato and the general sense of expressive freedom these pieces need. © 2020 MusicWeb International Read complete review

American Record Guide, September 2020

Filippo Mazzoli has a gold flute and a rich yet delicate tone. Nathalie Dang accompanies adeptly at the keyboard. She adds plenty of “meat” to the writing, particularly the lush romanticism of the opening piece. The instruments are balanced clearly, and you’ll hear neat articulation in the first of Louis Masson’s 3 Pieces (1901). This is music of gestures and contrasts, but all in a range of exquisite good taste—until we get to the over-the-top opera fantasy by conductor-performer-composer Taffanel that closes the program. © 2020 American Record Guide Read complete review on American Record Guide

Records International, June 2020

This program, a tribute to the Belle-Époque style, offers a variety of the main genres of the period: the morceau de salon, the fantasia on operatic themes, the song without words, and the mélodies or album leaves. © 2020 Records International
