Ralph P Locke
American Record Guide, May 2017

Here [Stefano Secco] performs 15 of the world’s most beloved tenor arias—most of them Italian—with solid tone, perfect intonation, and very clear diction. Though his family name means “dry”, the singing here has lots of juice, under splendid control. …There is much to admire and enjoy here.

The orchestra sounds fine—sometimes a little small (like many an opera-house orchestra) but very responsive to the push and pull of the tenor’s phrasing. The orchestra plays in today’s standard international style. The clarinet solo that opens ‘E lucevan le stelle’ is beautifully turned and vibrato-free.

Orbelian and his forces supply atmospheric and sensitive backups to what is one of the most enjoyable recitals of tenor singing that I have encountered in a while. © 2017 American Record Guide Read complete review on American Record Guide

MusicWeb International, November 2016

There are some ups and downs here but the orchestra play well—listen to the intro to the Juive aria—under Orbelian’s safe baton. The recording is excellent and Stefano Secco, today in his early forties, is without doubt one of the better Italian tenors in his generation. © 2016 MusicWeb International Read complete review
