Philip Greenfield
American Record Guide, November 2019

Runestad’s music tends to be luminous, spiritually charged, enmeshed with the texts that inspired it, and fully accessible to singers and audiences.

Jean-Yves Duperron
Classical Music Sentinel, August 2019

Craig Hella Johnson has certainly picked the music of a composer that perfectly matches this choir’s sound. Runestad’s music is gently stirring and evocative. His choice of instrumentation, when needed, is unobstrusive and befits the voices extremely well. Soft and distant piano ripples or strings that create a contrasting foil to the choir, and yet enhances the warmth of the human voice. The audio recording captures the 25 voices of Conspirare from precisely the right distance, setting them in a naturally spacious acoustic that is a pleasure to hear. © 2019 Classical Music Sentinel Read complete review
