Charles H Parsons
American Record Guide, May 2016

The work is well described as a melodramma fantasticogiocoso.

Bomfadelli rants and raves—a detriment to her singing. Top notes are a screech; wobbles and ugly sounds plague her performance. But she is so funny to watch! A real comedienne.

Colaianni is a comic riot, vocally and stage-wise. I am glad that in watching the video I see the singers’ facial expressions—not always possible in the theater. Colaianni’s interplay with Boscolo’s sexy, huge-voiced Comare is a major treat. © 2016 American Record Guide Read complete review on American Record Guide

Hans de Groot
The WholeNote, April 2016

Conductor and director are good at keeping the action moving. …The best performance comes from the baritone Domenico Colaianni as the much-put-upon cobbler Crispino, while the soprano Stefania Bonfadelli as Crispino’s wife Annetta copes well with her technically demanding part. © 2016 The WholeNote Read complete review
