Delightful music, essayed with clarity and elegance; and there’s lots more to come. © 2014 MusicWeb International Read complete review

David Denton
David's Review Corner, June 2014

We have now reached the third volume in the complete piano sonatas of Leopold Kozeluch, and, as he wrote fifty, I guess there are twelve more discs still to come. Having in previous volumes tried to fathom out the dates of composition, I thank the soloist, Kemp English, for supplying the year of 1784 for the contents of present disc—sonatas nine to eleven…English[’s]… playing is beautifully clear and lucid, and you feel a very deep commitment to the composer. His use of a very beautiful American instrument, built in the style of Anton Walter, the foremost Viennese fortepiano builder in the late 18th century, is a joy to hear, and the recording quality is most pleasing. Much commended to the curious. © 2014 David’s Review Corner
