Aurelia C. Scott
AudioFile, April 2015

…the excellent David Horovitch is so vital. His attentive pacing highlights Conrad’s beautiful language and minute social observations without contributing longeur, thus keeping the listener interested as the plot develops. His warm, rich tone and English accent are a pleasure to hear. This is an excellent and timely reissue of a profound novel. © 2015 AudioFile Read complete review

The Seniors Review, December 2014

In a new Naxos audiobook, the dark, sad, exploitive tale is brought to life by actor David Horovitch. Not an easy task for him, but effectively executed, he soon drawns us into the multi-character, many-layered story, which loosely uses a later historic event, the 1894 bombing attempt in Greenwich Park, as backdrop. Despite its 19th century setting, this is a very modern novel, well suited to being read aloud. © 2014 The Seniors Review
