Joel Kasow
Fanfare, November 2017

Anna Tsygankova and Matthew Golding are a sympathetic pair of lovers, never in the least fazed by the challenging choreography, with Remi Wörtmeyer (the Prince in alternate casts) entirely faithful to his friend. Comedy enters into the mix with the slapstick antics of the step-family, only Clementine (Nadia Yanowsky) being remotely likeable as she tries to be nice to Cinderella under the eyes of her disapproving sister Hortensia (Megan Zinny Gray). Larissa Lezhnina, on the verge of retirement, is still a force of nature as the stepmother, reveling in the comedy while dancing up a storm. Ermanno Florio and the Holland Sinfonia offer smooth-sailing support through the score’s difficulties. © 2017 Fanfare Read complete review
