Rob Maynard
MusicWeb International, December 2016

Long the signature work of the Royal Danish Ballet, Napoli gets a modern makeover here, with the action updated to the 1950s and a newly-commissioned second Act. Superbly performed, it’s irresistible foot-tapping fun. It has been brilliantly filmed too, especially in the very busy finale that brings the house down. Undoubtedly the best ballet release of the year. © 2016 MusicWeb International

The company appears to be in fine shape, …The orchestra too plays with brio under the experienced hand of Graham Bond. © 2016 Ballet Review

Dance International, March 2016

The highlight is undoubtedly the dancers performing in the famed Danish style, with buoyant light jumps, fluttering beats and graceful arms, all made to look completely relaxed and effortless; the musicality and detailed acting combine with a general sense of joie de vivre, so that everyone onstage looks like they are having a ball. Leading an impeccable cast, Alban Lendorf is a positively swoonworthy Gennaro, ably matched by Alexandra Lo Sardo’s perky Teresina. © 2016 Dance International

…one of the most enjoyable ballet recordings that I’ve come across for some time. I can offer no higher praise than to point out that, having watched it once, I immediately ordered the Blu-ray version. © 2016 MusicWeb International Read complete review
