George Dorris
Ballet Review, September 2015

Recorded at Covent Garden with the splendid original cast and the fine orchestra led by David Briskin, Bob Crowley’s designs provide the right atmosphere as winter becomes spring. Ross MacGibbon’s filming keeps an appropriate focus on the dancing, while the extras include interviews with the choreographer, composer, and principal dancers. © 2015 Ballet Review

Given the high production values of this ballet and the degree of difficulty in rendering this complex story, I would consider the Royal Ballet’s production to be a successful tour de force. The dancers deliver fabulous turns on the stage, doing justice to Wheeldon’s innovative and often challenging choreography.

The collaboration of Wheeldon and Talbot seems a match made in heaven and hopefully we will get future efforts from this artistic duo. I found myself applauding along with the audience who were on their feet at the final curtain. Bravo! © 2015 Blu-rayDefinition.com Read complete review

Rob Maynard
MusicWeb International, April 2015

The finely wrought and attractive Talbot score provides a highly effective platform for Christopher Wheeldon’s distinctive and imaginative choreography and for the Royal Ballet’s dancers. Their skilled, technically assured performances, along with the personal input and supervision of its creators, only intensify the authority of this production.

…picture and sound of excellent quality. © 2015 MusicWeb Itnernational Read complete review
