Philip Borg-Wheeler
Fanfare, September 2019

The German Florian Glemser gives a superb performance of the Eroica Variations. Variation 2 (all in triplets) has a wonderful, bubbling exuberance, dispatched with a beautifully light touch. Altogether, it is difficult to imagine a more brilliantly characterized reading, each variation wearing different clothes, as it were. Glemser does the skittish as well as the dreamy (Variation 8), the playful as well as the intimate. He relishes all the humor in Beethoven’s dogged insistence on the repeated quavers (the three fortissimo B♭ separated by rests in the theme)—especially with the outrageous grace notes in Variation 9. Even the two voices—piano right hand and forte left hand—within a single variation (No. 12) are perfectly differentiated. © 2019 Fanfare Read complete review

Alain Steffen
Pizzicato, March 2019

…The pianist is much more convincing in the Sonata No 30 and especially in the Bagatelles, where he delivers one of the most mature performances I know about. © 2019 Pizzicato Read complete review

Lark Reviews, March 2019

There is an intimacy to Florian Glemser playing which I find very appealing. He takes a breezy approach to the Eroica variations but is the Bagatelles which are the most substantial works on the disc and the most compelling. Hopefully we will hear more from him. © 2019 Lark Reviews
