John Quinn
MusicWeb International, September 2017

Miss Nylund is the soloist in the set of five Romantischer Gesänge. …They’re very interesting songs and Camilla Nylund does them very well.

Ricarda Merbeth’s singing is tragic and regal and she is wholly committed to the music. One detail that caught my ear was the prominent use of a sinuous saxophone… © 2017 MusicWeb International Read complete review

Conductor Albrecht and the orchestra have the neo-Straussian idiom down, and the sound is first-rate. © 2017 American Record Guide Read complete review on American Record Guide

Tim Ashley
Gramophone, December 2016

The material is shared between three very different sopranos. Ricarda Merbeth is more at home with the declamation of the Japanische Gesänge than as Cleopatra, whose high-lying phrases expose pressure in her upper registers. Genia Kühmeier sounds very assured, though, in Die Gott minnende Seele, where the intervals are tricky and the vocal line disquietingly exposed. Best of all, however, is Camilla Nylund, sumptuous yet keenly responsive to the texts throughout, and displaying superb dynamic control in the Chinesische Gesänge. The latter, placed first on a disc that runs chronologically, is a deeply haunting work that should, by rights, be heard with greater frequency. © 2016 Gramophone Read complete review on Gramophone

Anne Ozorio
Opera Today, November 2016

The magnificent introduction to Die Gott minnende Seele, with its haunting horn melody, prepares us for the dark richness of the vocal line to come. …Genia Kühmeier sings the sprightly lines so they suggest excited palpitation. …This wonderful, tightly constructed song cycle is a miniature masterpiece.  2016 Opera Today Read complete review

Playing marvellously throughout, the Konzerthausorchester Berlin, one of the finest ensembles in Germany, provides unyielding support under the assured direction of Hansjörg Albrecht. © 2016 MusicWeb International Read complete review

Remy Franck
Pizzicato, October 2016

This is a compelling program with interesting works in mostly good performances. Especially Camilla Nylund and Genia Kühmeier excel vocally with a much nuanced singing. © 2016 Pizzicato
