Barry Kilpatrick
American Record Guide, March 2016

The 9-minute ‘Kirschblüten’ (Cherry Blossoms, a “Waltz in the Old Style”) is by far the largest of these very entertaining pieces. Dedicated to the children of the 2013 Fukushima nuclear disaster, the work very skillfully includes Japanese musical references. The excellent reading is by the Schönbrunn Festival Orchestra. The other seven pieces are played with enthusiasm by the PAN European Philharmonia. © 2016 American Record Guide Read complete review on American Record Guide

The playing varies from good to excellent, and the sound is always listenable. © 2015 Fanfare Read complete review

Fanfare, January 2016

…Hofbauer is superb in the long melodic lines, while the orchestra is incredibly responsive. Mancusi’s music can be playful, too, as in the muted, jazz-inflected section or, indeed, in the happy demeanor of the opening of the finale. © 2015 Fanfare Read complete review

Dave Saemann
Fanfare, January 2016

Joe Hofbauer, for whom Mancusi wrote his Trumpet Concerto, gives it a beautiful performance. Its first movement finds the soloist embarking upon a wistful cantilena, broken up with hints of figuration that could be from The Carnival of Venice, Hummel’s Trumpet Concerto, and Kurt Weill. © 2015 Fanfare
