David Hurwitz, February 2018

Weber’s colorful orchestration and dramatic thrust emerge with remarkable freshness. Even Der Freischütz sounds like a new discovery. The mono sonics are sometimes dim, but always clear and generally kind to the performances. © 2018 Read complete review

Peter J. Rabinowitz
Fanfare, January 2018

Rosbaud’s keen ear and adaptability made him a sensational accompanist—and the discs are made more welcome by the inclusion of two works for piano and orchestra, both featuring important pianists in areas we don’t always associate with them. Casadesus turns out to be a fine Weberian—in the gentle timbral play of the opening, in the nimble clarity of the faster passagework, and most of all in the thrust of the more extroverted moments. Rosbaud goads him well. © 2018 Fanfare Read complete review

Hans Rosbaud conducts Wagner Overtures SWR19036CD
Hans Rosbaud conducts Weber and Mendelssohn SWR19040CD

Reviewing recordings featuring the German conductor Hans Rosbaud is difficult simply because the only thing worth saying is that everything Rosbaud does sounds so right. © 2017 Gramophone Read complete review on Gramophone

Robert Benson, August 2017

This seems to be [Casadesus’s] only recording of the Mendelssohn, which he plays with great style. …Audio is substandard, although piano sound is excellent. If your interest is the famous French pianist, this is for you. © 2017 Read complete review
