J.F. Weber
Fanfare, January 2015

…this disc not only reissues the 24 instrumental performances but also adds vocal renditions of the 12 pieces that were originally texted for a total of 36 tracks. That makes it doubly valuable, both for the adequate playing time and the complete presentation of the music.

I wouldn’t expect another effort on this scale, now that we have such an effective presentation. © 2015 Fanfare Read complete review

Tognon and Verh play vivaciously on a range of instruments in the early dulcian family, which allows for some variety of colors. And the singers are very precise and straight-forward. © 2015 American Record Guide Read complete review on American Record Guide

Gary Higginson
MusicWeb International, August 2014

These are played beautifully and with immaculate tuning and phrasing.

In fairness this is really a disc for the specialist and student and one you may well wish just to dip into…This would be as good a place to start as any.

The recording poses no problems and is clear and well balanced. The vocal pieces have a pleasant sense of the acoustic of the ancient church in the beautiful, historic town of Gubbio in Umbria. © 2014 MusicWeb International Read complete review

Rick Anderson
Baker & Taylor CD Hotlist, August 2014

The result is an excellent pedagogical resource and a good…listening experience. The vocal pieces are…viscerally enjoyable. Recommended… © 2014 Baker & Taylor CD Hotlist Read complete review
