Mark Novak
Fanfare, March 2019

The performances are good. The Quartetto Bazzini has obviously immersed itself in this music and it shows in the recording. … I look forward to the rest of these quartets from this source with mild anticipation. © 2019 Fanfare Read complete review

Fanfare, March 2019

…These two works may not be of Beethovenian stature, they are melodious, inventive, engaging, and well put together. This release has persuaded me that Bazzini is a composer worth rediscovering, and I recommend it to those wishing to widen their knowledge of 19th-century string quartet repertoire or just to enjoy some worthwhile, unfamiliar music. I hope that Quartetto Bazzini will have the opportunity to record more music by its namesake composer. © 2019 Fanfare Read complete review

American Record Guide, December 2018

…The Andante quasi allegretto swept me away for nine minutes with its suave melancholy. The finale is strong without overdoing it, and these musicians must be given their due. For that matter, these four young Italians expressed named their ensemble for Bazzini, and they have honored his name with these fine performances. © 2019 American Record Guide Read complete review on American Record Guide

Bob McQuiston
Classical Lost and Found, November 2018

The performances by the Quartetto Bazzini (QB) are as good, if not even better than those in the above mentioned album. On that note, one of the QB’s priorities since its founding in 2010 has been introducing modern day audiences to their namesake’s unjustly forgotten Quartets. An all Italian group, these musicians deliver enthusiastic, yet sensitive readings of these scores. They’ll leave you anxiously awaiting their renditions of the remaining four, which will hopefully soon be forthcoming. © 2018 Classical Lost and Found Read complete review

MusicWeb International, November 2018

The Quartetto Bazzini play this music with a great sense of style and energy, especially in the E flat Major Quartet, there is great ensemble work here and in the final track on this disc they really shine. © 2018 MusicWeb International Read complete review

Records International, September 2018

Previously known on CD for his virtuoso violin pieces, we now get the chance to hear Bazzini as a composer of German-influenced chamber music. Having performed the French and German repertoire as a string quartet member, it’s not surprising that Beethoven and Mendelssohn would be the first two influences you hear in these quartets from 1864 and 1879. © 2018 Records International
