This is Volume Two of a projected Naxos cycle of commercial recordings made by the legendary Wilhelm Furtwängler between 1940 and 1950. It includes his first wartime studio recording with the Berlin Philharmonic, the Cavatina from Beethoven’s String Quartet No. 13, as well as his only studio recording of the Coriolan Overture and an overwhelming interpretation of the Third Symphony, ‘Eroica’.
