Remembered above all for his opera Merrie England, Edward German wrote a quantity of incidental music as conductor at the Globe Theatre in London. He provided a charming evocation of The Seasons for the Norwich Festival in 1899 and a tuneful set of Diversions for the Royal Philharmonic Society in 1919.
