SOUSA: On Wings of Lightning

John Philip Sousa, born in 1854, became the most famous American composer around the turn of the present century. He is best remembered for his brilliant and dynamic marches, music that still forms part of the standard repertoire of bands around the world. Many have been arranged for symphony orchestra.
