AVSHALOMOFF: Violin Concerto / Soul of the Ch'in / Hutungs of Peking

Though largely self-taught, Aaron Avshalomoff became a leading authority on Chinese music. Born in Siberia, he was constantly drawn back to China, where he integrated the musical styles he experienced in Europe and the United States with the unique sounds that he discovered there. A composer of Chinese opera, he also wrote symphonic music, including a number of exotic and intensely beautiful concertos.
