Bill Worland represents the continuing tradition of British light music. The compositions included on this disc range from work of the 1950s, such as Shopping Spree, to the very recent celebration of the Millennium in a Celebration March, with its sounds of Big Ben and pealing church bells. The spirit of Spain and Latin America are heard, together with an evocation of Scotland in Scottish Power. This is music which testifies to the living spirit of a genre which has recently enjoyed a remarkable revival.
