REGONDI: 10 Etudes / Introduction and Caprice, Op. 23
Born in Italy to a German mother and raised by an Italian father, a guitarist, Giulio Regondi showed early proficiency in the instrument. After success in Paris, he appeared with his father in London, until the latter absconded with their money. Much of the rest of a very successful career found him in London, where he also became a concertina virtuoso. His Ten Etudes were recently rediscovered and form an important addition to guitar repertoire.
