Guitar Recital: Lorenzo Micheli
Lorenzo Micheli was born in Milan in 1975. He graduated cum laude from the G. Tartini Conservatory, Trieste, in 1996 and also studied with Frédéric Zigante at the Fondation Mozart in Lausanne and Oscar Ghiglia at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena and at the Musik-Akademie der Stadt Basel. Lorenzo Micheli is a laureate of several international competitions. In 1999 he was the first Italian to win first prize at the Guitar Foundation of America Competition, a prize which includes a solo recital tour of over fifty cities throughout the United States and Canada. Lorenzo Micheli appears throughout the world as a soloist, in chamber music ensembles and with orchestra. He plays a guitar made by Luigi Locatto of Turin in 1999.
