One of the most individual and most prolific of twentieth century Norwegian composers, Geirr Tveitt suffered a terrible blow a decade before his death when his home and most of his music were destroyed by fire. Thanks to the efforts of his family and fellow musicians, his vivid sound world is now being rediscovered. These two concertos for his own instrument integrate tender, haunting melodies into a brilliantly colourful and imaginative orchestral and pianistic setting.
