Ladies Only Café Strings, a seven-piece ‘classical’ chamber ensemble of Swedish Chamber Orchestra players, present a cross-section of music in a lighter vein which they play regularly on Swedish Television ‘café programmes’. In a variety of styles ranging from Jules Caty’s pseudo-Edwardian waltz, Con amore, through Tin Pan Alley, Jazz and Bop items with classical overtones, Charlie Parker, Johnny Mathis and Barry Manilow, this is a programme of skilfully and unpretentiously arranged music to sit back and enjoy.
